I’ve been away from my blog since the start of the year, so I wanted to check in with an update.
I’ll start with the big news, in case you missed it: PLANETSIDE was nominated for an Audie Award. This is a very big deal in the Audio Book world, where Planetside has been very well received. We’ve sold more audio books than we’ve sold paperbacks, if that tells you anything. A lot of that is due to the outstanding narration by RC Bray. I’m also pleased to announce that RC Bray will also be performing SPACESIDE. The Audie Awards are presented on March 4th, and while I don’t expect that we will win, being nominated (and thus in the top 5) is a huge honor.
Speaking of SPACESIDE, there was a slight change to the release date, but now we’re final. It comes out on August 27th. I don’t want to spoil much, but it picks up in the aftermath of Planetside and stars Colonel Carl Butler, with some other returning characters. All formats should be available at that time. Sometime this summer I’ll set up a pre-order for signed copies with my local indie bookstore.
As far as future books, I don’t have anything to announce at this point. Once I know something, I’ll be sure to post it. Right now I’m working on a novel tentatively titled PEACEKEEPER. I’m starting to get serious about it, and while I’m only 8000 words into it, false modesty aside–it’s good. And that’s coming from someone who hates most of the things he drafts. I’m at that point where I’m excited to be writing it every day, which is a really good sign.
I’ll be adding a feature to my website in the near future…an events page. It got to the point where I’m doing enough appearances that I needed a place to post them. That will be up as soon as my web designer, Gail Villanueva, gets to it (She’s awesome, BTW).
Sorry for the silence. I’ll try to be more diligent in my updates.
Hi, I’ve seen you on a few panels at Norwescon and picked up your book today. You cost me much sleep but I finished it. What a ride!!
I’ll be looking forward to the next one!!
Thanks! Glad to hear it!
